Instructions for Cooperating Teachers

  1. In order to log into the system, you will need access to an e-mail we will send you near the end of the semester. Typically this e-mail is e-mailed 2-3 weeks prior to the end of the placement. Complete instructions on how to log in are in that e-mail.
    • If you believe you may not have received the e-mail mentioned above, please contact Alex Jacobsson at jacobale@gvsu.edu or call at (616) 331-6248.
    • Depending on your e-mail provider's spam filter settings, the e-mail may be filtered as spam. Please check your spam folder.
  2. The first time you log in, we ask several questions. The answers you provide will only be used to satisfy reporting needs and only in aggregate form.
  3. Select the student you would like to assess.
  4. Select the rubric you would like to assess.
  5. For each row assess the student on a 0-3 scale by selecting the score in the left column for the element.
  6. At the bottom of your assessment, you may leave a comment.
    1. This comment will be visible to the field supervisor, but only after they revisit the site.
    2. If you have an important or sensitive message, please let your field supervisor know directly.
  7. When you have completed the assessment, click “Submit Assessment” at the bottom.
  8. You will see a confirmation message in green, “Assessment submitted successfully. Thank you.”
  9. Please click on "Select another Rubric" and start back at #5. If there are no more rubrics, you are done.
  10. When you are done you may click “Sign Out” in the top right corner to end your session.

Everyone should be presented with two different rubrics, one measuring performance and the other measuring professional disposition. If you are offered a third rubric, please complete it only if it is applicable to your student's major.
